Stupid is just stupid. When they have children, it would be cool if he/she/it had a human head and a DS body. LMAO then he/she/it would never be bored again.

ThanksLiving

Thanksgiving week is here! Finally food, fun, and Black Friday sales (even though it doesn’t really matter here down in Guate…). But for those in the states, it’s the best time to buy the new gadgets for really low prices. Last week Thursday, I walked into yet another Thursday chapel, and when I saw Nicco’s dad (aka Mr. Musacchio) walk up to the front to give preach, I was really excited. Not only is he a powerful speaker, he knows how to keep students awake, which is important. Overall, he’s a really good youth pastor. Thursday was no exception. Thanksgiving is a day where everybody gives thanks to God and each other for many things. But shouldn’t it be a ThanksLiving?

He was referring to our spiritual lives. When we need Jesus, He suddenly becomes more. When we don’t need Jesus He’s just “over there”. I find this to be true in my life whenever I need something from God. He’s suddenly just more than God. For example, in our physical lives, when we need something from our teachers, they suddenly become the “best teacher in the world” or the famous “your my favorite teacher” line comes out. Anybody becomes more important when we need them. This can be found in the bible (Luke 17:11-19), when Jesus heals 10 lepers. The funny thing is when the lepers call out to Jesus, Jesus is suddenly more. “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” -Luke 17:13

Leprosy was an epidemic disease back in Jesus’s time. Basically, your whole body decays and limbs just start to fall off. What’s worst is the fact that leprosy is contagious, so anybody with leprosy would be shunned from the rest of the community. They would hang out with other lepers and probably talk about which limb fell off in the morning.

Oh and if you didn’t know, the story is taking place at the border of Samaria and Galilee. This can be kinda compared to the 38th parallel that divides South and North Korea. So we all know the story, Jesus tells the lepers to go to the priest and on the way, they all get healed… right? So why did only one come back to Jesus to thank him? If you read closely, the Bible says the one person that came back was a Samaritan. And we’re guessing the other nine were Galilean. So when they all had the same sickness, it didn’t matter whether they were Galilean or Samaritan. But after they were cleansed, and after all the celebrating and excitement, I bet they started to bash on the Samaritan. I bet they were telling him that he was not worthy to be accepted into the community, and that they were better then him. You see, when we get something new, its exciting, but also distracting. We’re suddenly better then other people, and when we are owed something, our level of thankfulness becomes really low. Sometimes we think what we have is because of who we are. But did the lepers do anything to deserve healing? Where they better then others?

The lepers were healed because Jesus was merciful yet one got left out. He then decides to goes back to Jesus and thank him. ThanksLiving. Let us not thank God when we are the ones left out in the background.

The Stand

This is my favorite song. Here are the lyrics:

You stood before creation
Eternity within Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand

You stood before my failure
Carried the Cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
What can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I'll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
What can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I’ll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

Nice little article about learning how to die. I read something similar over summer vacation; Tuesday’s with Morrie. I really liked the book. It really gave new meaning to “before you learn how to live, you have to learn how to die”. I still don’t understand that saying but it’ll come to me someday.

Sometimes good things come in small packages. This book was randomly handed to me by my English teacher a couple of days ago. EPIC. Check your local library and see if they have a copy.

I’ve decided to start up my blog again. These past two months were really tiring but now everything is back to normal so I have more free time. On a side note, CAG students, every Friday from 4-6 there’s open volleyball in the gym. Come and have fun and get ready for the volleyball season next year! But I’m warning you right now that it’s OPEN volleyball which means there’s scary adults and coaches

I really like Mac’s

leave a comment »

Today during school, I saw Nicco carrying around his Macbook at school. He uses his Macbook for EVERYTHING. The teacher gives us a handout for notes and he refuses to use it and types it all up. He says it’s better organized and easier to read. I agree with him. So today, asked if I can see his Macbook and he got all personal about it and wouldn’t even let me near it. Then during lunch, I saw him with a iWorks 2009 software box in his hands so I went over to check it out. He got all personal again and told me to go away. He and his Mac are too cool for me.

I don’t know why, but I think Apple computers are cool. Everyday, I have to deal with anti-virus softwares, runtime errors, sudden and unexpected errors for webpages, and Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Macs probably don’t have to deal with that stuff. Even on my Toshiba computer, I have an Apple sticker on it. It’s a wanna be Mac. Everything is so much better, i.e batter life, software, hardware, and especially the design. I really like how it looks and feels. It doesn’t overheat, it’s fast, it’s organized, and again, it looks REALLY COOL.

If I’m not mistaken, my cousin is a HUGE Apple fan. I like to go to his blog and read the small reviews that he does for Apple products. Putting an Apple sticker on a IBM or PC was his idea. Apparently, it’s supposed to make me feel less guilty about not owning a Mac. It’s working. He has a iMac and a Macbook. He’s cool.

August 2009 Mission Report

leave a comment »

Finally it is the last day of August! Many things happened this month, mainly SAT summer school ending and regular school starting. When they say Junior year is the hardest, they’re not lying. Before I start this mission statement report, I have to warn you this might take a few minutes to read.

School started on Monday, August 24th for me at Christian Academy of Guatemala.  Before this, I was attending Hanal SAT Prep Academy… for SAT prep (duhh). I finish the SAT prep academy with a solid 1900. Not bad, but not what I want to see on the real test.

After a week of rest, school came around the corner. First week was already jam packed with 2 projects. Now I’m currently on the JV basketball team and our first game is on the 8th of September. I also plan to run for Class President this year and I know I can get the job done if I apply myself.

Basically, life is just like California. The school teaches the same material, church is the same, the only thing that is different is that it’s a bit more dangerous here. Oh and the food here is realy good. I really miss my friends back in California and hopefully, I can visit during winter break.

In conclusion, this past month has had it’s ups and downs. I really wanted to make the Varsity team but coach says we can move up if we try really hard. I bombed my first English quiz becuase I didn’t read the directions. It’s ok though, according to the teacher, if I get a 100 on the next three tests, it won’t affect my grade THAT badly -_-””. I couldn’t get into Math Based Physics because my math level is too low. But at least school started. Better then sitting around and doing nothing.

So that’s it. That’s my August Mission Report. It sucks but it’s my first one so bear with me. I hope it gets better as the months go on..
